Hm I seem to be having some issue installing/upgrading netclient on a mac. jimmy@Jimbook-Pro ~ % brew install netclient ==> Downloading https://fileserver.netmaker.org/v0.15.1/darwin/netclient-amd64.tgz Already downloaded: /Users/jimmy/Library/Caches/Homebrew/downloads/8a42bd9fa73bdf59586a7f382586f0630b23004f7b29e13dcf18d02d3e2af0fa--netclient-amd64.tgz All formula dependencies satisfied. ==> Installing Cask netclient ==> Running installer script '/usr/local/Caskroom/netclient/0.15.1/install.sh' /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.gravitl.netclient.plist: service already loaded Load failed: 37: Operation already in progress ==> Linking Binary 'netclient' to '/usr/local/bin/netclient' chmod: Unable to change file mode on /Applications/netclient: Operation not permitted chmod: /Applications/netclient: Permission denied chmod: Unable to change file mode on /Applications/netclient: Operation not permitted ==> Unlinking Binary '/usr/local/bin/netclient' ==> Purging files for version 0.15.1 of Cask netclient Error: Failure while executing;
/bin/chmod -R -- 0755 /Applications/netclient

This is due to a change we made for this issue: https://github.com/gravitl/netmaker/issues/1470 We're aware of the issue and are working on a fix

I'm not on a M1 mac, this is an intel one 🙂
j
@bored-island-21407 for awareness
I believe the change affected brew install generally, not just for M1
s
ah right
for reference, the pkg doesn't work either
j
is the pkg throwing the same error?
s
I can't tell as all it does is saying install failed, contact the person who build it
j
any logs / screenshots?
i guess you should contact me 🙄
s
screenshot I could make, not sure how good your dutch is 😉
the brew just gave the error I already copied
where does the pkg create it's logs?
found it
not very useful I think but here you go

@echoing-controller-96073 had the same error with Brew and then he tried again and it worked.
e
yeah. I ended up trashing the netclient folder in /Applications and it reinstalled fine after that.
s
I will try again a bit later then 🙂
worked indeed after first removing the folder 👍
So after the problem I had earlier today I removed it from my macbook, now trying to install it again after it worked on a debian machine but now brew isn't working anymore
it tell me it's unsigned so it can't be executed
also tried the pkg but it's still 0.15 instead of 0.15.1
b
xttr -c
s
lets see
now it's installed again
🙂
